As a Surgical Technologist, you will engage in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment that prioritizes analytical thinking and practical skills. This role allows you to refine your expertise and foster connections across multiple specialties in a stimulating and fulfilling critical care atmosphere.

Our facility encompasses 15 distinct specialties and 33 operating rooms, supported by dedicated Surgical Technologist Educators who will assist you in navigating the diverse opportunities available.

We invite experienced Surgical Technologists, recent graduates, and individuals currently enrolled in accredited Surgical Technologist Training Programs to join our exceptional interdisciplinary team.

In this position, you will collaborate with nationally recognized healthcare professionals and contribute to a team renowned for delivering exceptional patient care, innovative medical solutions, and pioneering research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize surgical supplies and instruments for procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with aseptic protocols among team members.
  • Differentiate between sterile and non-sterile items processed through various sterilization techniques.
  • Demonstrate foundational surgical case preparation by reviewing surgeon preference cards and assembling necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Provide basic safe patient care.
  • Exhibit principles of aseptic technique and sterile awareness.
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of surgical procedures and human anatomy.
  • Maintain awareness of safety practices for patients, self, and team members at all times.
  • Be eligible to take the specialty certification exam upon completion of an accredited surgical technology program.

Compensation Range: $32.05 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program.

Licensure: Current registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine is required upon hire. BLS certification is mandatory.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates prolonged standing, repetitive motions, and the ability to lift heavy instrument sets. It demands excellent communication, auditory, and visual skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to lift, push, or pull weight. Exposure to various elements may occur.
