Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team. Our work environment is collaborative and engaging, providing ample opportunities for interaction with diverse project teams.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive information throughout the proposal, engineering, and fabrication stages to support estimating and project teams in all Systems Engineering aspects.
  • Create project-specific specifications for the development of P&IDs and oversee the installation of the project P&ID database, including numbering, tagging, and graphical symbols.
  • Assist the sales team in discussing technical details with clients and the Business Development team as needed.
  • Develop and revise P&IDs for the entire facility during project execution, including:

- Determining line sizes for all P&IDs

- Conducting hydraulic calculations for all lines, including pump NPSH and thermosiphon reboilers

- Compiling line lists and conducting piping tests

- Creating logic diagrams and cause & effect charts for the facility

- Compiling an Alarm & Setpoint List

- Preparing process data sheets for utility equipment

- Defining process requirements for all instruments

  • Draft Operating Manuals, Operator Training Presentations, and Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Plans.
  • Review and provide feedback on packaged equipment P&IDs, including vendor logic diagrams and cause & effect charts.
  • Evaluate equipment drawings for process-relevant aspects, participate in plant model reviews, and engage in HAZOP meetings as necessary.
  • Offer technical guidance and expertise to Project Engineering and manufacturing teams during ongoing processes.
  • Design and size control and safety relief valves.
  • Support start-up, commissioning, and performance testing as required.
  • Conduct field troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Maintain periodic communication with customers, with travel requirements kept to a minimum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with at least 3 years in process plants, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with process simulation software such as ProMax, HYSYS, or Symmetry, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a detail-oriented and innovative approach, are necessary.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying process concepts to both internal and external stakeholders are required.
  • A registered Professional Engineer license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in engineering or operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 environments is preferred.
