Position Overview:
The chosen candidate will contribute to System Safety Engineering initiatives for Advanced Development Programs in the aviation sector. This role involves assisting in the creation and implementation of the System Safety Program Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analyses for hazard identification, assessment, and control utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies commonly applied in the design of aircraft weapon systems and their maintenance activities.
- Perform various System Safety Analyses, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), and System Safety Analysis (SSA), among others.
- Execute qualitative and quantitative hazard assessments to facilitate risk evaluations and trade studies aimed at optimizing design decisions and recommending suitable measures to mitigate safety risks.
- Collaborate extensively with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external stakeholders to coordinate system safety activities effectively.
- Establish software safety requirements in line with applicable standards and assess the functional implications of noncompliance in collaboration with design Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in cross-functional communication.
- Familiarity with System Safety analyses, standards, and tools.
- Proven experience in leading projects and teams.

Preferred Skills:
- Military or civilian flight experience.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754.
- Understanding of FAA and military regulations and processes.
- Experience in drafting technical reports on complex topics.
- Background in military or government programs.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis methods.
- Training or experience in model-based system engineering (MBSE).
- Experience working with international clients and suppliers.
- Familiarity with government contract execution.
- Comprehensive experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools throughout the full lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from senior management.
- Demonstrated capability to lead teams in resolving complex issues, including direct engagement with senior leadership within the organization and client entities.
- Experience with software safety requirements throughout the entire development lifecycle, from hazard identification to system/software qualification testing.

Security Clearance Requirement:
This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens for consideration.

Work Environment:
