DCS Corp is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide expertise in support of advanced projects within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate. This role is crucial for managing and executing modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of a diverse portfolio that serves both the United States Air Force and international partners.

As a key contributor, you will engage in comprehensive support for various programs and initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass system engineering research, design, development, installation, testing, and operational management of systems. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of established engineering principles, particularly in electrical engineering, to ensure that operational safety and suitability are prioritized in all activities.

This position is a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough system engineering reviews and analyses throughout all phases of system development.
  • Innovating and enhancing existing features and methodologies to improve system performance.
  • Translating user requirements into detailed system specifications to guide design and development efforts.
  • Reviewing system design baselines to ensure compliance with architectural and interoperability standards.
  • Assisting in the formulation of system specifications and architecture documentation.
  • Performing independent evaluations of proposed engineering changes and vendor proposals.
  • Supporting life cycle cost assessments for proposed systems and components.
  • Participating in test planning and execution, ensuring that evaluations meet operational requirements.
  • Assisting in the scheduling and coordination of necessary testing resources.
  • Monitoring and reporting on test and evaluation efforts across various systems.
  • Contributing to the design and documentation of test and evaluation programs.

Engineering Design & Architecture:

  • Leading all engineering activities required during the material solution analysis and acquisition process.
  • Conducting architectural analyses to assess design feasibility and system capabilities.
  • Documenting system architectures and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Detailing operational requirements and ensuring functional interactions are well-defined.
  • Translating operational needs into actionable system requirements.
  • Providing engineering evaluations of training systems and equipment.

Acquisition Management:

  • Implementing DoD acquisition processes to address life-cycle requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing program specifications and documentation.
  • Utilizing analytical techniques to optimize system performance and effectiveness.
  • Reviewing contractor submissions for technical accuracy and compliance.

Technical Oversight:

  • Supporting requirements definition, architecture design, and verification processes.
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer and best practices across teams.
  • Conducting market research to evaluate current and future systems.
  • Performing trade-off studies to assess performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Developing test plans and executing evaluations in line with acquisition strategies.

Qualifications:

Due to the sensitive nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A High School Diploma with 15 years of experience, including 8 years in the DoD, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 12 years of experience, including 5 years in the DoD.

Secret Security clearance is mandatory.

Experience in electrical engineering areas such as design, circuit analysis, and modeling is essential.

Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and Air Combat operations is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree in a related engineering discipline from an accredited program is desirable.
