The New York City Bar Association (City Bar) is a prestigious organization established to support a diverse legal community in practicing with excellence and advocating for justice.

Department Overview

The Communications and Marketing Department is dedicated to crafting and executing marketing strategies that enhance membership engagement and promote various programs, including Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and the Legal Referral Service (LRS).

Role Overview

The Marketing Outreach Specialist plays a vital role in executing marketing initiatives aimed at boosting participation in CLE and non-CLE programs. This position also supports the promotion of significant events such as The Institutes and the Small Law Firm Symposium.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the production of email, social media, and print marketing materials in collaboration with coordinators, attorneys, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate dissemination.
  • Engage with stakeholders in Membership, Marketing, and CLE departments to meet mailing and production timelines while ensuring promotional accuracy.
  • Participate in weekly program meetings to report on past marketing efforts and strategize future initiatives.
  • Assist the Associate Marketing Director in developing marketing campaign timelines for effective outreach to potential registrants.
  • Manage inquiries and requests received in the General City Bar Center for CLE inbox, providing necessary information and responses.
  • Update and maintain the City Bar website with relevant content and create HTML pages to highlight CLE and non-CLE offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Membership and Marketing Coordinator on social media marketing efforts.
  • Review marketing materials for grammatical accuracy, timely content, and consistency.
  • Provide support to other marketing coordinators as needed.
  • Assist the Associate Marketing Director with various projects.
  • Prepare and refresh prospect lists and promotional resources as required.
  • Represent the Association at relevant functions as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience (internships included).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management capabilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proficient proofreading skills.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a professional environment.
  • Familiarity with iMIS, Keystone, and WordPress is advantageous.
Work Arrangement:

This is a hybrid role requiring in-person presence at the Midtown Manhattan office approximately 50% of the time, with the remainder of the work being conducted remotely. The hybrid schedule may be adjusted based on departmental needs.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Starting salary for this position ranges from $46,000 to $48,000 for a 35-hour work week, depending on experience. A competitive benefits package is offered, including generous paid time off, medical plans, dental and vision coverage, 401K, life insurance, and more.
