Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative at Royal Vopak, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, handling order processing, addressing service issues, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide single point of contact to customer for order processing for all modes of transportation, land, marine and pipeline
  • Handle paperwork involved, update appropriate systems and databases
  • Handle order processing for product with two components and two additional operational services
  • Handle quality documentation, research and reporting for any non-compliance issues
  • Schedule railcars and trucks as necessary
  • Perform simple inventory functions, monitor inventory levels, send reports
  • Prepare special reports as requested, handle special projects requested by customer
  • Maintain and file completed orders, verify and act upon deviations for completed orders, perform basic research, report on findings, generate order correction requests
  • Monitor truck shipments, act on deviations including late arrivals or those that do not arrive
  • Maintain customer rail car fleets used for product movement in or out of Company facilities
  • Train regularly on all Federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines including, but not limited to, RCRA requirements; follow and adhere to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements
  • Participate in the daily Operations meeting as requested
  • Attend meetings with customers
  • Participate in improvement projects
  • Maintain internal and external reports, monitor accuracy
  • Generate billing for overtime charges on tank truck and tank car storage
  • Maintain sales database/order database system, create order templates
  • Train new Customer Service Representatives as requested
  • Function as a team member with other Customer Service Representatives
  • Perform other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position

Work Environment

This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100°+ and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 0° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50' in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
