Role Overview

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel and temporary staff, ensuring effective training and feedback, promoting safety awareness, and guaranteeing that tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and organization of work schedules to ensure efficient job assignments.
  • Identify high performers and those needing improvement, reporting findings to management.
  • Coordinate the unloading and loading of shipments, adhering to established procedures and maintaining inventory controls.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of customer products and orders.
  • Oversee the quality of executed orders and conduct physical audits.
  • Support the team with first-level issue resolution, including product damage and quality concerns.
  • Provide assistance to Shipping and Receiving Clerks as needed.
  • Lead team assignments and manage workloads effectively.
  • Cover shift responsibilities in the absence of team members.
  • Perform Material Handler/PIT duties as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Engage in housekeeping activities and 5S practices as required.
  • Deliver hands-on training for associates and onboard temporary staff.
  • Ensure safety, sanitation, and security through awareness programs and inspections.
  • Complete reports and metrics for management in a timely manner.
  • Assist with physical inventories or cycle counts as necessary.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to enhance business processes and eliminate waste.
  • Implement the 5S Lean methodology to maintain a safe and orderly facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of lead warehouse or related experience.
  • 2 years of Fork Truck/Tow motor operational experience required.
  • Equipment Certification is mandatory.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Proficient in basic math, computer skills, and data entry.
  • Strong decision-making abilities within established guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork.
