Job Summary:
Reporting to the AVP of Liquid and In-Plant Transloading, the Liquid Bulk Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of rail car moving equipment, adhering to train orders, signals, and safety regulations. This role involves the transportation of petroleum and plastic products, ensuring timely and accurate switching and placement of rail cars, and verifying proper alignment for product transfer between railcars and bulk trucks in a safety-sensitive environment. The supervisor will also engage with customers on service-related tasks, including asset management, quality control, and safety efficiency.

Essential Functions/Duties:
  • Prioritize safety by participating in all company safety training programs.
  • Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement to enhance safety and service quality.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Implement and uphold operational policies, contributing to organizational standards and training in safety and quality procedures.
  • Manage teams and supervisors to ensure quality control and timely reporting.
  • Oversee crew scheduling and daily staffing to maintain adequate shift coverage.
  • Conduct site audits and manage maintenance for vehicles and transfer systems.
  • Adapt to site needs, including personnel, processes, and systems.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in transloading or material handling.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 55 lbs and moving up to 250 lbs; climbing, standing, walking, and using hand tools.
  • Capability to perform close visual inspections and maintain focus on tasks.
Licenses/Certificates:
  • Must be able to safely operate Powered Railcar Moving Equipment and pass certification.
Skills:
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Recognize and address onsite risk factors effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills for operational tasks.
  • Mechanical and organizational aptitude.
  • Proficient in completing written documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks without constant supervision.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
Additional Job Details:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time position managing a 24-hour operation, with weekend work as required.
