Mission Statement: The Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to enhancing the Pediatric Nephrology Division, striving for excellence in patient care, education, and research across clinical, translational, and fundamental domains.

Primary Objective of this Role: We are in search of a non-tenured Assistant or Associate Professor who will engage in a combination of direct patient care, clinical management, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as provide instruction and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows. This role also includes the pursuit of academic endeavors, which may encompass research or other activities aligned with the unit's goals and the individual's aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

Education: The faculty member will hold teaching obligations, offering guidance and mentorship to medical students, residents, chief residents, and fellows as appropriate.

Research Engagement: The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in research activities and contribute to clinical, translational, and outcomes research initiatives.

Professional Service: The faculty member will participate in departmental or School of Medicine committees as needed and engage in professional activities such as peer review and conference presentations.

Clinical Duties: The faculty member will function as a Nephrologist within the Department of Pediatrics, including weekend duties and on-call responsibilities as required.

Additional Responsibilities: The faculty member will undertake administrative tasks pertinent to this position.

Essential Qualifications:
Board certification in pediatrics Board certification or eligibility in pediatric nephrology Proven experience in patient clinical care Background in an academic medical environment Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student community or a commitment to do so as a faculty member within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
