Leidos is in search of a skilled Lead Technician for Field Operations to become part of our diverse team, dedicated to crafting innovative solutions for intricate challenges.

With a presence across the United States in sectors such as defense, space, cyber, and commercial domains, Leidos delivers agile, cost-efficient engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.

The Field Operations team is responsible for providing on-site technical support and maintenance for existing hardware, software, network setups, and new system initiatives at various customer locations.

Their role includes offering technical guidance for supported products and services, managing equipment installations, and ensuring the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated systems. They also provide essential advice on the handling, installation, and operation of various complex systems and equipment.
This specific role involves leading sustainment and field support for advanced space control systems. Work is conducted at multiple customer sites and may require deployment to various locations worldwide. Team members are expected to provide on-site assistance as necessary.

The selected candidate will oversee a contractor sustainment team and collaborate closely with military personnel to meet mission requirements.

Knowledge of deployed operations is crucial, as resources may be limited, requiring a high degree of creativity to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Technician for Field Operations, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and directing field operations and technical support.
  • Training, organizing, and evaluating the performance of contractor sustainment teams.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex technical issues related to Army SATCOM.
  • Managing routine and complex maintenance tasks for supported SATCOM systems.
  • Providing support for various subsystems, including communications, networking, antennas, power, timing, signal distribution, and more.
  • Overseeing equipment assembly, configuration, installation, integration, calibration, and testing.
  • Offering technical advice and maintenance services to military SATCOM operators.
  • Leading a field operations team in identifying and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Conducting tests with a variety of instruments and analyzing results to enhance system performance.
  • Preparing technical documentation and reports.
  • Assisting in mission planning and engineering for SATCOM equipment.
  • Ensuring that Field Operations personnel are ready for deployment.
  • Collaborating with engineers on system design and integration activities.
  • Managing the procurement of necessary equipment and parts.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with operational procedures and policies.
  • Maintaining workplace safety by identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Providing telephonic support to resolve complex issues.
  • Coordinating and conducting system training.
  • Supporting customer outreach and business development initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A bachelor's degree along with twelve or more years of relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience in space control.
  • Three years of experience in a leadership role within a technical team.
  • Expertise in SATCOM operations, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Reliability and a strong sense of personal integrity.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
  • U.S. Citizenship and a current U.S. passport.

Candidates must be eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that are advantageous include:
  • Experience with deployed military mobile or tactical SATCOM.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework.
  • Experience with shift work and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
