About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Development to join our Michigan Medicine Regional Gifts team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts to support the University of Michigan Medical School and Michigan Medicine's mission to improve the health of patients, populations, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to increase philanthropic support for key institutional priorities, education, research, and patient care.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit major and planned gift prospects, with a focus on gifts of $100K and more.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty leaders, donors, and volunteers to increase philanthropic support for specific departments and programs.
  • Collaborate with other development personnel to identify referral opportunities and support the overall Michigan Medicine campaign goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to fundraising committees and related events led by volunteers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible development experience in an academic health system or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy, with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proven success in raising capital, program support, and endowment gifts.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with an engaging and mature personal style.
