Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Perform ophthalmic tests and procedures with proficiency across various sub-specialties.
  • Coordinate patient follow-up care effectively.
  • Assist in training and supervising ophthalmic assistants and interns.
  • Engage in research initiatives.
  • Support clinic operations, including technician scheduling and patient communication.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new staff members.
  • Deliver exceptional patient service and assist in clinical procedures.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a training program or relevant experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Demonstrated respect and compassion in patient interactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to documentation standards.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical equipment.
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant within one year of employment.

Desired Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:
  • Experience in the ophthalmology field.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.

Work Schedule

This position typically operates Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts based on clinical needs.

Additional Information

This role may be filled at a different level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The position requires moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, and assisting with patient mobility.
