KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver courses that ensure the achievement of learning outcomes and encourage active student participation in their educational journey.
Utilize a variety of assessment methods to ensure that instructional practices lead to student learning and the attainment of course objectives.
Analyze educational data to enhance teaching effectiveness and model instructional strategies that support student success.Provide timely instructional feedback and resources to assist students in achieving their academic, personal, and career aspirations while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
Create a dynamic learning atmosphere that stimulates intellectual curiosity and encourages students to engage in discipline-specific problem-solving.
Contribute to and take on leadership roles within the academic and professional communities of students, promoting collaboration and teamwork.QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in an educational setting.
A Master's degree or higher in the Life Sciences field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a degree or graduate coursework in Microbiology from an accredited institution.
Familiarity with Brightspace Learning Management System or similar platforms is preferred.Experience in online teaching (via platforms such as Zoom) and/or teaching certification is highly desirable.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse group of students and staff.
Experience working with a diverse, multilingual student population is preferred, reflecting a commitment to the open-access mission of community colleges.
