Mental Health Unit Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Unit Coordinator to join our team at VitalCore Health Strategies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services to patients and addressing their psychological needs.

The Mental Health Unit Coordinator will oversee and guide mental health professionals who provide direct care to incarcerated individuals. This position involves working closely with all disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to achieve effectiveness in serving the patient population.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for administrative staff, discussing treatment programs and resolving issues as needed.
  • Coordinate the development and revision of policies and procedures for identifying, assessing, and providing required clinical services for inmates.
  • Supervise the planning, development, and implementation of treatment programs contracted to VitalCore.
  • Provide clinical supervision to staff of Behavioral Health Services.
  • Monitor the efforts of Mental Health Services to ensure timely and professional provision of clinical services.
  • Ensure that treatment programs contracted are integrated and appropriately staffed.
  • Provide administrative support to psychiatric staff and assist coordinators in recruiting and selecting clinical staff.
  • Coordinate the facility's behavioral health Quality Improvement Program.
