We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Together We Rise team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of financial and administrative functions, including project management, budget monitoring, contract management, and logistical support for events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple, concurrent project management processes successfully.
  • Monitor department budgets on a regular basis and generate detailed reports and budget analysis as requested.
  • Partner with the Director, Deputy Directors, and the Department's Leadership Team on envisioning and operationalizing internal systems to support the work of TWR.
  • Lead logistical support for events, meetings, and conferences, including negotiating contracts with conference centers and hotels, securing conference meeting packages (CMPs), coordinating banquet event orders (BEOs), and providing onsite logistical support as needed.
  • Coordinate on behalf of the department with HR on specific personnel issues, including the processing of hiring/personnel change requests, probationary periods, promotions, step increases, etc.
  • Manage vendor contracts, payment, and financial transactions with locals, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Manage facilities and space for the team, including distribution of office equipment such as computers, printers, cell phones, and office supplies.
  • Handle inquiries and negotiate prices with vendors, and handle all paperwork within the department associated with the department billing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or at least three (3) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years of related work experience required.
  • Demonstrated openness to questions and a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and union values.
  • Skilled in supervising, supporting, and developing staff to high performance.
  • Skilled in effective verbal and written communications.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with consultants, vendors, and all levels of staff at headquarters, in the field, and in local unions.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial records.
  • Skilled in the use of Zoom and its back-end functions.
  • Thorough knowledge of event management.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor unions.
Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office setting, but may be required to work in other settings conducive to performing the work required to complete the assignment, such as field assignments. Long and extended hours and travel required.
