Job Overview

Orbis Operations is seeking an experienced management consultant to lead qualitative research and program evaluation activities for a client in the US Defense Community. This multi-year project offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate intellectual agility by designing research, collecting and analyzing data, and implementing recommendations that support the client in optimizing project delivery and meeting their mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research designs to evaluate strategic communications for a customer in the US Defense Community, incorporating practical strategies for conducting evaluations.
  • Apply operational knowledge and tradecraft to enhance the customer's planning, design, and implementation of various projects, leveraging expertise in organizational development and change management.
  • Design and conduct survey research, including sample identification, instrument development, survey distribution, and response analysis, to provide comprehensive insights into organizational strengths and challenge areas.
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative information to provide the customer with actionable recommendations for improving project delivery and meeting mission objectives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership based on research plans, activities, findings, and recommendations, utilizing visual representation of data to communicate key insights.
  • Brief senior-level customers on research plans, status of activities, findings, and recommendations, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Generate operational proposals based on findings and recommendations, leveraging expertise in business intelligence and data insights.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a Master's degree in business, social science, or behavioral science preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a role in the US Defense space, with active TS/SCI clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including visual representation of data using charts and graphs.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to perform in an individual contributor role while also excelling in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading program evaluation activities, with expertise in survey design and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze information and identify implications for policy, processes, communications, and training.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical concepts, with a Master's degree in business, social science, or behavioral science a plus.
  • Military operations familiarity is preferred, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
Work Environment

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with routine video conference and/or in-person meetings. Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region is required.
