Washington, Washington, D.C., United States Stand Together Full time

The Stand Together Fellowships, in collaboration with the National Taxpayers Union Foundation, invites applications for the Policy Analyst Internship. This 10-week experiential learning program offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work experience at non-profit organizations tackling pressing challenges. As a Policy Analyst Intern, you will assist with research and outreach activities related to budget and tax reform, including tracking and responding to policy proposals, drafting blog posts, issue briefs, and op-eds. Your primary focus will be on developing and analyzing policy recommendations that promote fiscal responsibility and accountability.

A key aspect of this internship is the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals, gain hands-on experience, and develop your analytical, research, and writing skills. You will also have the chance to engage with NTUF's other projects, including the Taxpayers Budget Office, the Interstate Commerce Initiative, and the Free Trade Initiative. These projects aim to provide taxpayers with a more accurate budgetary scorekeeper, push back against the growing trend of states seeking to tax and regulate outside their borders, and advocate for the lowering of trade barriers, respectively.

Stand Together Fellowships values diversity and inclusivity, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Our organization treats all program participants and applicants with honesty, dignity, respect, and sensitivity. We offer a competitive stipend, either $5,500 or $3,300, depending on the intern's full-time or part-time commitment, respectively. Additionally, you will receive virtual professional development sessions, where you will be mentored by experienced professionals and have the opportunity to craft a capstone project on a topic that matters most to you.

We encourage candidates to submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the position and NTUF's mission. This will help us understand your qualifications and how you can contribute to our organization's goals. If selected, you may also be asked to engage with NTUF's other projects, which will provide you with a deeper understanding of the organization's work and its impact on the community.

Stand Together Fellowships is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment, and we believe that our interns are the future leaders of our organization.
