Job Summary

As a key member of the Marriott International team, the Culinary Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality, consistency, and production of the specialty restaurant kitchen. This role requires a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus, purchasing, staffing, and food preparation plans for the specialty restaurant.
  • Lead and motivate a team of cooks and workers to achieve high-quality food production and excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure consistency and quality of food products.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and housekeeping, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, menu ideas, and culinary techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
