Telecommuting: This role allows for remote work, with some onsite responsibilities at designated locations.

Role Overview:

The Procurement Agent will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring aerospace fasteners and components. This includes gathering and analyzing data to assess the viability of purchasing products and establishing pricing goals. The role involves staying informed about price trends and manufacturing processes, engaging with suppliers, and evaluating their operations to identify cost-effective solutions that maintain quality and reliability. Key responsibilities include reviewing proposals, negotiating prices, selecting suppliers, managing orders, verifying deliveries, approving payments, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve savings and inventory targets aligned with commodity and business strategies.
  • Conduct market research and establish long-term agreements to meet procurement goals.
  • Select suppliers, negotiate pricing, issue purchase orders, and manage delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Sales department to address customer needs and resolve payment issues with suppliers.
  • Perform supply planning by assessing inventory levels and selecting approved suppliers.
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements with suppliers to maximize savings opportunities.
  • Work with the Quality department to address issues with defective or unacceptable goods.
  • Confirm purchase order acknowledgments and ensure accuracy of order details.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental deliverables and how purchasing decisions impact them.
  • Provide expertise in business processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate analytical capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of commodities and products.
  • Experience with cost modeling and understanding cost drivers.
  • General knowledge of aerospace compliance and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • APICS Certification in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferred.
Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
