We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Development Associate to join our team at the Stone Research Foundation. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in supporting our communications with donors and donor prospects, identifying opportunities for growth, and cultivating meaningful relationships with major donors.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Director of Development: Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement strategies for donor engagement and stewardship.
- Donor Relations and Communications: Serve as the primary contact for inquiries and requests from donors, partners, volunteers, and key constituents, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Development and Communications Activities: Coordinate and support all development and communications activities, including donor events, cultivation, stewardship, solicitation, and recognition of donors and donor prospects.
- Major Gift Donor Prospecting and Research: Conduct research and prepare profiles on potential major donors, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
- Content Creation and Development: Assist in creating compelling content, including print collateral, white papers, proposals, direct mailing fundraising campaigns, and appeals.
- Digital Content Creation: Assist in developing and distributing digital content for social media, email newsletters, and the website.
- Presentation Development: Assist in creating visually appealing presentations for fundraising pitches and academic conferences.
- Community Outreach: Interact with patients to capture their recovery stories and athletic accomplishments, and upload, schedule, and monitor community outreach posts on all social media platforms.
- Commitment to Our Mission: Share our passion for advancing orthopaedic research and improving the lives of individuals affected by sports injuries and arthritis.
- Non-Profit Development Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in non-profit development and communications, with a strong understanding of donor relations and customer service principles.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in iWave donor research software, e-Tapestry/Broadband, and Excel, with experience in data reporting, gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and program administration.
- Administrative Skills: Strong administrative skills, including reception and office operations, with knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Donor Relations and Customer Service: Excellent donor relations and customer service skills, with experience in providing event support and working with high-level major donors, volunteers, and prospects.
- Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-changing environment and work well on a team.
- Self-Starter: Proactive self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
