Position Overview:

We are seeking Electrical Engineers eager to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team that plays a vital role in supporting national defense through the ground testing of air and space systems. While some office work is involved, the majority of your time will be spent in the field or plant area, working alongside our skilled workforce. This role entails the practical application of engineering principles related to electrical equipment sizing, troubleshooting, circuit protection, and arc flash analysis for low and medium voltage systems. You will utilize engineering tools to generate risk assessments, work instructions, and other essential documentation to support testing operations. Some shift work may be required to accommodate testing demands.

Team Collaboration:

As part of a diverse engineering team, you will engage with various engineering disciplines, including controls, instrumentation, design, facility data analysis, and modeling/simulation, to ensure reliable operations and the capability to meet future testing requirements.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work alongside mechanical and electrical engineers to oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical equipment and systems, such as large motors, compressors, electrical switchgear, over-current protection devices, transformers, PLCs, relays, and solid-state variable frequency drives, all essential for providing reliable test conditions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution, with three to seven years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of practical experience in relevant engineering fields such as systems startup, field engineering, or operations/maintenance in large industrial settings.
  • Experience or education in low, medium, or high voltage power distribution.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems or components within mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering calculations, methods, and the application of computer-aided engineering (CAE) and design (CAD) tools.
  • Understanding of industry standards and design criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
