Job Summary:

The State of Oregon is seeking a qualified Behavioral Health Specialist 2, Qualified Mental Health Professional to join our team at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem, Oregon.

This exciting opportunity exists within our General Population Behavioral Health Services, where our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide innovative and compassionate treatment to our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and assessing mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults in custody, coordinating regular contact, conducting mental status examinations, and developing treatment interventions.

This position requires strong assessment and diagnosis skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial identification and assessment of mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults in custody
  • Crisis intervention and suicide prevention
  • Case management and treatment services
  • Records management and release planning
  • Consultation and training
  • Group facilitation

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy, or a Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Licensure as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in the State of Oregon
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health services
