Clinical Nurse Specialist

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for each patient upon admission and throughout their care.
- Monitor and manage Venous Access Device sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Administer prescribed medications while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Implement the seven medication rights to minimize the risk of errors in medication administration.
- Perform venous punctures and maintain venous access devices, educating patients and families on self-monitoring techniques.
- Evaluate and update patient care plans, promptly reporting any significant changes in patient conditions to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Observe and document patient responses during medication infusions, providing education to patients and caregivers regarding potential effects and self-monitoring.
- Assess and manage patient pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management strategies.
- Deliver patient care in a safe environment, reducing the likelihood of healthcare errors.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality within the organization.
- Collaborate with physicians to obtain necessary orders and adjust care plans as needed.
- Continuously evaluate the need for ongoing patient care, documenting all communications with healthcare providers.
- Label all medical supplies and medications accurately according to established protocols.
- Provide thorough education to patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
- When necessary, obtain and communicate lab results to physicians, especially those of significant concern.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Procure necessary supplies and equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
- Stay informed and proficient in the use of all infusion-related equipment.
- Participate in agency training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Adhere to all organizational policies regarding payroll, billing, and documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate patient documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
- Valid RN license in good standing in California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred certifications include CRNI or IGNC.
- Membership in a professional organization for infusion nurses is a plus.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License and Insurance.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Ability to walk, kneel, and assist patients with mobility.
- Capability to safely manage weights exceeding 100 pounds.
- Normal vision and hearing capabilities.
- Dexterity and strength to perform tasks such as IV starts and equipment programming.
- Compliance with all agency policies regarding documentation and billing.
