Internship Overview

Blue Origin is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as Systems Engineering Interns. As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our experienced engineers in support of our business units. This internship is a 12-week program that will provide you with hands-on experience in systems engineering, including system definition, systems test, system integration, requirements verification, system safety, operations, and system verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of systems engineering processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of systems and subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-level requirements are met.
  • Participate in system safety and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Available to work full-time for a minimum of 1 week while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with requirements and/or verification.
  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrates development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on project experience.
  • Passion for space.
