We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Support Specialist to join our team at Covenant Health.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Support Specialist is an essential member of our patient care team who contributes to the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay by providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs assigned treatments, procedures, and other related tasks according to facility policies/protocols and within the scope of the CNA position.
  • Assists with personal hygiene, toileting, ambulation, mobility, positioning, mealtime, oral care, and foley drains/ostomies, as needed, utilizing adaptive equipment as indicated.
  • Actively participates in the established plan of care.
  • Responds promptly to call lights, provides transport, maintains a clean environment, and follows principles of infection control.
  • Accurately documents on graphic and flow sheets in computer charting: vital signs, weights, and ADL care provided.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained before completion of orientation.
  • A High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 1 Year experience in behavioral health services.
  • Substitutions allowed: College training in mental health technology, a behavioral science, social work, rehabilitation therapy, or its equivalent may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling six (6) month of experience up to a maximum of two (2) years.
