About the Role

The Administrative Representative plays a vital role in coordinating the activities of the Nursing Division with other departments to ensure continuity of quality care for patients. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate relationships between patients, families, personnel, physicians, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate availability of supplies and equipment necessary for shift, including emergency equipment.
  • Evaluate nursing standards for shift and organizational quality improvement issues.
  • Facilitate risk management programs, monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction, and initiate emergency plans as needed.
  • Act as a resource person to Nurse Managers, unit staff, and other Departments.
  • Represent administration in their absence and facilitate organizational change.
  • Use evidence-based knowledge in decision making to improve and maintain high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Assist with performance evaluations for staffing resource personnel and evaluate education and leadership development programs.
  • Facilitate patient placement in conjunction with the Admitting Department and may assist utilization review process.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Manager regarding long and short-term staffing needs and support the management of the capital and operational budget for all nursing departments.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare service to support it with necessary resources and to ensure an excellent level of quality.
  • Use problem-solving skills to respond to and/or facilitate change in patient care processes.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution within the Nursing Division as well as other divisions and assist Public Relations in following incidents and events.
  • Facilitate a collegial relationship with the Medical Staff and identify and facilitate understanding of interdepartmental issues.
  • Facilitate intra/interdepartmental communication and problem-solving process by working with department managers and administrative representatives.
