Asset Recovery Sales Consultant

Position Overview
As an Asset Recovery Sales Consultant, you will oversee the sales process of surplus utility assets, which encompasses a variety of items such as construction machinery, tools, outdated inventory, fleet vehicles, power generation equipment, transformers, and recyclable materials like scrap metal and used oil. Your goal will be to achieve optimal revenue and minimize costs associated with asset disposition. You may also play a role in supporting significant dismantlement projects to maximize the recovery of value from equipment and materials. Your efforts will contribute to our corporate safety and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operational teams to facilitate the liquidation of surplus assets.
- Offer insights on asset disposition strategies, technical alternatives, and valuation assessments.
- Assess assets for market viability or the most cost-effective disposal methods.
- Evaluate and price assets accordingly.
- Research market trends for pricing and emerging opportunities.
- Design and manage competitive bidding processes for asset sales.
- Negotiate recovery transactions to enhance revenue and reduce costs.
- Oversee sale agreements and manage payment processes for revenue settlement and related accounting tasks.
- Ensure the integrity of financial transactions while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with legal, environmental, regulatory, safety, and accounting departments for complex transactions.
- Support sourcing initiatives to establish contract criteria for master service agreements related to investment recovery and major demolition projects.
- Contribute to the monthly and annual reporting of investment recovery results, functional performance, and sustainability metrics.
- Utilize strong relationship-building and communication skills to proactively engage with business partners in identifying key investment recovery opportunities.
- Establish and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, ensuring prompt responses and resolution of issues.
- Develop asset disposition strategies in collaboration with sourcing, business units, and category teams, applying supply chain knowledge and business insight.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, a technical/analytical field, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in sales, procurement, logistics, or a related supply chain role.
- Experience in plant or utility operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of contracts is essential.
- Experience in sales, negotiation, sourcing, and supplier relationship management is preferred. Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Manager of Investment Recovery (CMIR) are advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills are required.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%; a valid driver's license is necessary.
