Job Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner will be responsible for translating business needs into HR requirements, driving and implementing value-adding HR initiatives to build capability and increase organizational effectiveness and business performance within the Site. This role will involve leading the people-related agenda, working closely with the Site GM and functional managers to build their people management capabilities, plan and manage talent, and develop other people-centric approaches for the achievement of shared Group objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the people implications of the Site business plans and translate into pragmatic options/solutions. Participate in leadership meetings as required.
  • Design workforce plans with the Site leadership team.
  • Report on a suite of HR KPIs and reports to meet business needs as agreed with the General Manager and CPO.
  • Develop and operate G&H ways of working to enable the identification and hiring of motivated and capable people to fill key positions and ensure on-boarding and induction programs are applied consistently across the Site.
  • Support the recruitment process up to the Site management team. Directly manage Direct Labor hiring.
  • Support training & development programs (identifying external resource options as required) in line with Site and Group business plans.
  • Support the roll-out of the Company's performance management programs for the site population.
  • Deploy the talent pipeline, career and succession planning process in partnership with Site leadership to provide the capability needed to grow the business.
  • Deploy the company's employee engagement and retention programs and measures as required (employee survey, employee recognition schemes).
  • Deploy change management processes in agreement with leaders to ensure consistency and excellent execution.
  • Manage employee relations matters to conclusion as required, for example, investigations and hearings.
  • Provide robust, pragmatic, and solid HR advice– notably employment law -and coaching to Site leadership colleagues.
  • Support the development of US compensation & benefits such as 401K plans, healthcare plans (renewal planning) and interface with third-party providers to ensure service is provided to the required standard.
  • Undertake HR function projects or support business improvement programs as required as part of the Global HR team.
Site HR Responsibilities
  • Support the on-boarding, orientation/induction of new hires in line with prescribed procedures.
  • Support Fremont facility payroll (hands-on preparation) liaising with internal HR Shared Services organization.
  • Create and run reports using the company HR systems.
  • Support the Site healthcare plan open enrolment process.
  • Undertake pre-defined administration associated with the G&H Health & Wellness Program.
  • Assisting, advising the Site management team on the deployment of prescribed HR processes, policy, and procedures including annual employee surveys.
  • Support administration of prescribed annual HR processes (including appraisals, salary review, and bonuses) in accordance with pre-defined authority levels.
  • Coordination & monitoring of Time & Attendance, absence & holiday processes for Site employees; ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and Company policies.
  • Ensure HR policy documents (for example, Site handbook) are up to date & compliant with California employment legislation and G&H policies in consultation with Site management.
  • Attend to routine HR enquiries and employee behavioral issues where necessary.
Requirements
  • Proven, extensive experience and knowledge of California employment law, and US Employee Relations best practices. Demonstrated ability to guide and develop all US HR site leaders in navigating Employment Law issues and escalated ER cases.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field with a minimum of 4 years work experience; or in lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of providing solid end-to-end HR Business partnership and support to leadership in a manufacturing/plant setting.
  • Proven experience working at HRBP level within a manufacturing environment. Some experience of working within a matrix organization would be desirable.
  • Hands-on, solid administrative skills and experience of working with HRIS and data provision to payroll.
  • Demonstratable ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with great attention to detail.
