Lead and manage the Distribution and Grid Modernization department, providing overall leadership and strategic direction.
In this role, you will oversee the execution of engineering studies and analyses, including Generation Interconnection Studies, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Integration, Load and Generation Forecasting, Reliability Studies, and Distribution Automation Studies.
Additionally, you will engage in utility R&D projects, assisting our utility clients in addressing some of the most challenging issues in the industry.
Impactful Contributions:
Direct and manage engineering studies for electric distribution systems, including multi-year Generation Interconnection Studies and strategic planning.
Support the planning and execution of utility smart grid initiatives, such as Distribution Automation, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), and Microgrids.
Assist electric utilities in managing integrated distribution planning and DER programs, including solar PV, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency.
Drive innovation and R&D efforts for utilities while providing exceptional client support.
Develop and implement best practices for distribution planning related to DERs and storage, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Utilize your utility experience to engage with clients, understanding their specific applications and methodologies in Distribution Planning and Interconnection.
Mentor and develop your engineering team, providing project leadership and ensuring timely client deliverables.
Prepare comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), outlining scopes of work and project timelines.
Foster relationships with a diverse range of clients, including electric cooperatives, municipalities, and public utility commissions.
Qualifications:5+ years of experience in Power Systems Planning, focusing on Distribution and DERs.
Hands-on experience with interconnection studies and a solid understanding of IEEE interconnection standards.
Demonstrated leadership experience, whether formal or informal, with strong communication skills.
