Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee the recruitment, coaching, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
  • Lead a team responsible for the coordination and modeling of large-scale Generation Resources (10 MW and above) into the ERCOT System.
  • Manage the review of ERCOT screening studies, Full Interconnection Study (FIS) scope and approvals, and compliance with the Standard Generation Interconnection Agreement.
  • Engage with Market Participants to communicate ERCOT requirements effectively.
  • Support the development of planning databases and ensure regular updates in collaboration with ROS working groups.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive databases for Resource Entity modeling to ensure data consistency across departments.
  • Assist in the creation of new or revised models to accommodate emerging technologies or business processes.
  • Represent ERCOT in technical committees and subcommittees, contributing expertise to discussions.
  • Actively participate in state and national policy groups such as NERC and NAESB.
  • Serve as an expert witness on matters related to ERCOT generation interconnections.
  • Collaborate with upper management to strategize and implement ERCOT's initiatives concerning generation interconnections.
  • Supervise a professional team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and ensure the professional development of team members.
  • Contribute to the development and management of departmental budgets and financial targets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (Required).
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Preferred).
  • Equivalent knowledge through a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience beyond degree requirements.
  • At least 5 years of experience in transmission planning/analysis, grid operations, network modeling, or a related field beyond degree requirements.
  • Leadership experience is considered valuable.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 1 year in a leadership capacity.
Work Location
  • Employees are expected to work on-site a minimum of 2 days per week, with flexibility based on business needs.
  • Remote work must be conducted from a Texas residence.
  • Employees may choose to work on-site more frequently or full-time if desired.
