Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering comprehensive health assessments and treatment services. This role involves initiating immunizations and treatments in accordance with established protocols while providing essential education and support to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical history reviews and perform detailed physical assessments.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and immunizations, as well as collect laboratory specimens.
  • Provide extensive educational counseling to patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for patients and external agencies.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Must have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and possess a minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience.

Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in standard software applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas and possess a valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Additional Information

Employees may be required to work overtime and weekends based on departmental needs, with prior notice from supervisors.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of enduring prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, as well as lifting up to 25 lbs. without assistance. Travel to various work locations may be necessary.

Special Considerations

This position may involve working in secured facilities, necessitating the ability to manage youth restraint and respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
