Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a positive customer experience by ensuring service is performed correctly the first time, adhering to applicable codes to minimize refunds and recalls.
- Provide accurate pricing consistently.
- Recognize when to implement a "Lock Out/Tag Out" procedure and follow the necessary steps.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Offer technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to resolve complex HVAC challenges and ensure timely service completion.
- Communicate the advantages of membership programs.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and equipment, coordinating with suppliers for timely availability.
- Effectively communicate with customers to address inquiries, concerns, and service-related matters, ensuring a positive experience.
- Assist in rescheduling customer appointments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and accurately inventoried service vehicle.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance service delivery and achieve business goals.
- Report any safety concerns to a supervisor or manager.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Keep precise records of service calls, work performed, and materials utilized.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
- Certification or license in HVAC and familiarity with local and national HVAC codes and regulations.
- EPA Certification is required.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems and equipment.
- Exceptional customer service abilities and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with approval to drive by the company's insurance provider.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC or a related field.
- Previous experience in commercial HVAC service.
- Familiarity with HVAC software for scheduling and work order management.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Primarily fieldwork, including customer sites, with occasional office-based tasks.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor elements with significant temperature variations and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) for at least 70% of the time.
- Climbing ladders and steep stairs is required. The majority of the time will be spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
- May involve working in confined spaces or at heights, occasionally from heights of 15 feet or more.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier items with assistance and appropriate equipment.
- Ability to carry a 24 ft extension ladder alone or a 40 ft extension ladder with a coworker on most jobs.
- Good visual acuity is necessary.
Position-Specific Standards:
- Willingness to attend training courses and enhance skills.
- Availability for on-call duty outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with scheduled on-call days.
- Support the team by phone as needed, 24/7.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all private, sensitive, and proprietary business matters.
