We are currently seeking a VLBA Technical Specialist who will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) Station. This position requires a hands-on approach and expertise in various technical fields, including electronics, mechanical systems, and site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the VLBA Station, including the 25-meter antenna.
- Oversee the functionality of critical systems such as Radio Frequency receivers, cryogenic systems, and data communications equipment.
- Utilize standard electronic testing tools to assess and enhance unit performance, ensuring all systems operate efficiently.
- Collaborate with fellow specialists and engineers to develop solutions for technical challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of work performed, including technical reports and schematics.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and NRAO policies.

Qualifications:
- An Associate of Science degree in Electronics or a related field is preferred; a Bachelor's degree may be advantageous.
- A minimum of two years of experience in electronics or electrical systems is required, with candidates possessing five or more years considered for advanced roles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
