Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a VLBA Site Technical Specialist. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of radio astronomy equipment, including antennas, receivers, and data recorders. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the continued operation of our VLBA stations, which play a critical role in advancing our understanding of the universe.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on radio astronomy equipment, including antennas, receivers, and data recorders.
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Collaborate with other technical staff members to ensure seamless operation of the VLBA stations.
- Develop and implement procedures for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Provide technical support and training to other staff members as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics or electrical engineering, preferably in a radio astronomy or telecommunications environment.
- Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
