Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Rhythm Analyst to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Cardiac Rhythm Analyst, you will be responsible for continuous observation of cardiac rhythms in the Central Monitoring Room. Your expertise in interpreting cardiac rhythms and distinguishing between normal and abnormal rhythms will be crucial in ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit patients into the system and enter all applicable patient information.
  • Verify that patients are on the correct telemetry transmitter upon admission and every shift.
  • Analyze and document each patient's rhythm strips upon admission, and at least every 8 hours.
  • Notify patient's nurse of rhythm and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain vigilance at all times, giving 100% of attention to the cardiac monitors.
  • Recognize situations that require Rapid Response or Code Blue and take appropriate action.
  • Disinfect telemetry transmitters after each patient use.
  • Perform appropriate transfers and discharges from the monitoring system.
  • Maintain the Telemetry Monitoring System and troubleshoot within job scope.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete the Dysrhythmia Course and MST orientation.
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse use.
  • Ability to clearly and fluently speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to successfully complete on-the-job training for LGH computer programs.
  • Must successfully complete annual competency assessment for cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preferred, but orientation is provided after successful completion of Dysrhythmia Course.
  • CPR certification recommended.
  • Ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation screens.
