Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Lancaster Medical Center. As a Monitor Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by continuously observing and monitoring their vital signs, detecting any abnormalities, and reporting them to the nursing staff.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
  • Operate and maintain cardiac monitoring equipment, including electrocardiogram (ECG) machines and telemetry systems
  • Recognize and report any changes in patients' cardiac rhythms or other vital signs that may indicate a potential health issue
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement plans of care for patients with cardiac conditions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
