Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team at Penn State Health. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for performing various stress tests and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, utilizing your clinical knowledge and professional judgment to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer treadmill and ergometer protocols for stress tests, including monitoring, recording, and interpreting EKG tracings for diagnostic purposes.
  • Recognize and respond to cardiac arrhythmias, utilizing BLS and ACLS skills, and obtain emergency medical equipment as needed.
  • Provide patient care, including obtaining history, assessing patient condition, collecting and interpreting clinical information, explaining procedures, and obtaining acknowledgement forms.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of Noninvasive Cardiology equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties, including scheduling procedures, inventory management, and transport tracking.
  • Train and precept new employees.
  • Perform electrocardiograms and possess knowledge of rhythm recognition to notify physicians of abnormal EKGs.
Requirements
  • Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or other Allied Health-related degree required.
  • ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
  • CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of clinical cardiovascular experience or equivalent internship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification desired.
  • Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) or AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional desired.
