Job Summary:The Senior Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring that both accounts payable and receivable processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role involves creating and optimizing workflows to maintain accurate and current accounts.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the company's accounts receivable process, including the timely collection of account balances, and perform various accounting duties such as account maintenance, problem-solving, and auditing.
- Ensure the effective and timely collection of all client/account balances, ensuring payments are received within terms.
- Conduct thorough research related to the collection process, including reviewing sales orders, invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Apply all client payments accurately according to established procedures.
- Maintain organized and accurate account/payment history and provide necessary documentation for client payment and external auditor inquiries.
- Support year-end audit processes as assigned.
- Perform additional general accounting duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly identify process gaps or concerns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of root cause methodologies.
- Proficient in Excel and capable of managing tasks in a high-volume, multi-temperature food production environment.
- Superior time management and cross-functional communication skills.
