Cloud Operations Specialist - Onsite

Overview:

As a Cloud Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing the technology that underpins our essential services, particularly within the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud ecosystem.

Your contributions will significantly impact the success of organizations globally.

Our Technology team comprises specialists dedicated to assessing and enhancing current systems while innovating for the future.

Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be vital in ensuring project involvement, support continuity, and participating in a rotating on-call escalation process.

In this capacity, you will oversee the identification and resolution of issues that may disrupt service delivery for leading Digital Consumer Experience products.

Collaboration and innovative thinking are crucial for this position.

As a primary escalation point, you will be tasked with addressing cardholder-related issues in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:


Deliver hands-on support for existing environments, including the execution of tasks such as software installation, patch management, upgrades, query development, configuration, security, system monitoring, tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release management.

Manage and upgrade Amazon EKS clusters.
Implement tools and automation for build processes, configuration management, continuous integration (CI), deployment, and application monitoring.
Automate and enhance infrastructure, deployment strategies, and testing to facilitate rapid deployment cycles.
Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning, configuring, and scaling infrastructure in cloud environments.
Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure all relevant KPIs are integrated within the monitoring framework.
Engage in all Production Support activities during incidents and outages.

Act as a hands-on technical resource capable of resolving all technical challenges across various environments and providing recommendations for performance and capacity enhancements.

Participate in capacity planning, system stability tuning, provisioning, performance, and scaling of application infrastructure.
Demonstrate a commitment to resolving issues in a 24x7 environment while maintaining a non-disruptive yet swift resolution time.

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; relevant work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Experience with AWS technologies:
Elastic Kubernetes / ElastiCache / KMS

Networking:
VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / Security Groups / Flow Logs

Compute:
EC2 / AutoScaling / Load Balancers

Database:
SQL / RDS / Dynamo / PostgreSQL

Other:
IAM / S3 / CloudWatch / CloudFront
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
Experience collaborating with third-party vendors
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Exhibit a strong desire to automate processes wherever possible
Able to participate in on-call rotation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Containerization technologies:
Docker or Podman

Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery tools: AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps
Linux system administration skills to manage and troubleshoot Linux systems and services, including bash scripting.

Networking:
Solid understanding of routing and networking principles
Experience in an Agile development environment

Web Servers:
Nginx or Apache configurations and reverse proxies
Familiarity with collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow

Note:

This position is a Contract to Hire opportunity.
Onsite work is required.
