The Administrative Support Specialist - Driver executes detailed and specific tasks in a consistent clerical environment, which includes a variety of repetitive clerical functions performed in a prescribed or slightly modified order. Responsibilities may include organizing and filing documents within a comprehensive alphabetical system, performing basic postings to individual accounts, managing incoming mail, calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts, and operating standard office equipment such as photocopiers, facsimile machines, multi-line phone systems, and mailing devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorts and organizes all incoming mail (first-class and bulk) according to designated mail codes.
  • Maintains daily mail counts to verify the arrival and delivery of all standard mail. Ensures the delivery and secures signatures for all accountable mail to the intended recipient within two hours of receipt.
  • Distributes and collects mail during two scheduled deliveries each day (10:00 AM and 2:00 PM) throughout various office locations, adhering to established routes and procedures.
  • Operates UPS WorldShip, CampusShip, and other mailing systems.
  • Ensures safety within the scope of work by using equipment properly and following safety protocols.
  • Completes and maintains all required training as per organizational standards.
  • Responsible for the delivery and collection of various documents, packages, and items according to established routes, and assists in mailroom operations.
  • Logs schedules and deliveries accurately.
  • Delivers and retrieves a delivery vehicle for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs additional mailroom duties as assigned.
  • Promotes a positive team environment and ensures quality work.
  • Adheres to professional conduct as per organizational policies.
  • Completes necessary documentation and paperwork.

Requirements:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, eligible for corporate automobile insurance.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write basic correspondence.
  • Ability to recognize and sequence numbers and letters.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Professional demeanor and positive image when interacting with the public and colleagues.
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Moving and lifting objects, requiring substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods, moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Other physical demands include stooping, sitting, pulling, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing stairs and ladders, talking, and listening.
