GENERAL
DESCRIPTION:

This position involves labor-intensive tasks focusing on thorough cleaning and basic maintenance of County facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


The following duties outline the primary responsibilities of the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.



  • Thoroughly cleans, scrubs, and maintains floors.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and cleaning carpeted spaces.
  • Washing windows, woodwork, and restroom fixtures.
  • Restocking supplies in bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Changing out towels, toilet paper, and soap in designated areas.
  • Cleaning sidewalks and outdoor spaces around buildings.
  • Removing waste and other debris from various areas.
  • Replacing burnt-out light bulbs as needed.
  • Assisting with minor equipment repairs.
  • Rearranging office furniture and equipment as required.
  • Driving vehicles to transport materials and personnel.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with established safety standards.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Adapting to changes and performing related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with cleaning materials, methods, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical capability to perform various custodial tasks safely.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.

PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Must be able to remain stationary for 10% of the time.

Regularly operates various janitorial equipment including brooms, mops, and vacuums. Must frequently position oneself to work under or around various items to complete custodial tasks.

Constantly inspects and evaluates equipment, buildings, and materials to fulfill daily responsibilities. Regularly ascends and descends stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. Frequently moves materials and office equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. Regularly communicates with the public, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring accurate information exchange. Frequently works outdoors in varying weather conditions, including potential exposure to inclement weather for up to four (4) hours. Regularly operates a motor vehicle for up to four (4) hours. Constantly inspects and evaluates equipment, buildings, and materials to fulfill daily responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial custodial work.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS,

OR REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

Disaster Essential.
