Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst III to join our team at M&T Bank. As a key member of our Deposit and Payment Services Center of Excellence, you will play a critical role in providing support to line and department managers by developing and maintaining reporting and dashboards that aid in reviewing historical performance and making forward-looking decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards in Excel or Power BI to support line and department managers, including trending of volume and quality metrics, period comparisons, and variances to plan.
  • Use business intelligence software to enhance existing reporting and build new reporting, keeping the end user in mind when building reporting.
  • Complete regular and ad hoc analyses, ranging from simple to complex, with minimal supervision, including measuring performance to service level agreements, financial forecasting, and analyzing opportunities to add efficiency to a process.
  • Develop good working relationships with line and department managers to support their reporting and analytics needs, including asking probing questions to fully understand their needs and customizing your approach to deliver results.
  • Present and communicate results to management, determining the best tool for final deliverables and tailoring communication as appropriate based on audience.
  • Understand and adhere to department timelines and deliverables for regular and ad hoc tasks, prioritizing requests based on capacity and need and setting expectations appropriately for managers/business partners.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years' related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, experience creating detailed management reporting and/or dashboards, and intermediate knowledge/experience with a business intelligence tool like Power BI or Tableau.
