About the Role

The Yolo High Wheelers are seeking a highly skilled Game Day DJ to join our team and enhance the fan experience at our home games. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in setting the tone and energy of the stadium through music, sound effects, and other audio elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate audio equipment and software during pregame, in-game, and postgame events, including between batters, pitches, and breaks in live play.
  • Collaborate with the production team to fulfill specific music and sound effect elements, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for fans.
  • Monitor the progress of the game and make timely decisions on which content to fire, including music tempo, song genre, interactive fan prompts, and sponsorship activations.
  • Coordinate with the public address announcer/host and scoreboard operator to ensure accurate and synchronized audio tracks and cues.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with the audio system and work quickly to resolve any disruption in the listening experience.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive music library and sound effect bank, including clipping tracks.
  • Control and organize content such as walk-up songs, music genre, moments, and hotkeys.
  • Attend pre-production and post-production meetings and rehearsals as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating audio systems or similar DJ or mixing experience, preferably in a sports or entertainment setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple content streams and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing game situations and audience preferences.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other production team members and game operations staff.
  • A passion for baseball and an understanding of the game's nuances, enabling you to anticipate key moments and deliver compelling content.
  • Ability to attend all home games.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as baseball games can occur during non-traditional working hours.

Compensation and Benefits

The offer range for this part-time seasonal position is $16 per hour, and this position runs from mid-May to the end of the season in mid-September.
