Position Overview:

In the role of Sound Engineer for the Yolo High Wheelers, you will play a pivotal part in elevating the fan experience by managing the stadium atmosphere through music, sound effects, and more, in accordance with the directives provided by your Producer.

Collaborating closely with the production team, you will be tasked with operating sound effect software, music tracks, and mixing equipment during games and other live events to ensure a captivating and dynamic auditory experience at key moments throughout the event.

Your contributions as the Sound Engineer will create memorable experiences for fans by providing an engaging soundtrack that amplifies the excitement of a baseball game.

Key Responsibilities:

2. Collaborate with the Producer and Showcaller to execute specific music and sound effect requirements.

3. Monitor the game's progress closely and make timely decisions regarding which content to deploy, including music tempo, song genre, interactive fan prompts, sponsorship elements, etc.

4. Coordinate with the public address announcer/host and scoreboard operator to ensure that all audio tracks and cues are accurate and synchronized with other game components. 5. Troubleshoot any technical issues with the audio system and respond swiftly to resolve any disruptions in the auditory experience.
6. Build and continually update the music library and sound effect catalog, including editing tracks as necessary.
7. Organize and manage content such as walk-up songs, music genres, and hotkeys.
8. Attend any pre-production or post-production meetings and rehearsals as required.

Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in operating audio systems or similar DJ/mixing roles is preferred, particularly in a sports or entertainment context.
2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple content streams and ensure seamless transitions.

3. Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing game situations and audience preferences.

4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other production team members and game operations staff.

5. A passion for baseball and an understanding of the game's nuances, enabling you to anticipate key moments and deliver engaging content to enhance the fan experience.

6. Availability to attend all home games.
7. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as baseball games can occur during non-traditional working hours.
8. A genuine enthusiasm for baseball and a desire to capture and illustrate the essence of the game.

Compensation:

The compensation for this part-time seasonal position is $16 per hour. This role runs from mid-May to the conclusion of the season in mid-September.
