Position Overview:
The Commercial Lines Account Manager collaborates closely with the Client Advisor to address the service requirements of both new and renewing clients. Responsibilities are allocated based on established guidelines, procedures, and the quality and service standards set forth by the agency.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- 220 license
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lines, particularly with Community Association clients in Florida
Technical and Administrative Expertise:
Proficiency in computer skills is essential, along with the capability to master the agency's automation systems and other required software. Familiarity with Windows-based operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (2007 or later), including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary. Strong typing skills, effective communication abilities, and excellent organizational skills are vital, along with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to respond to requests promptly and efficiently.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
The ability to learn agency automation systems and internet applications is crucial. Candidates must be capable of accurately transferring data between sources and interpreting policy change requests to communicate them clearly to insurance providers. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary to explain complex issues, interpret intricate information, and respond appropriately. Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple requests efficiently, and the skill to delegate tasks effectively to support staff are also important. The role requires effective interaction with others, positive cooperation, and the provision of information and guidance to contribute to the agency's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Advising and assisting clients by clarifying coverage options and exclusions, making recommendations, processing policy changes, managing premium collections, and addressing client inquiries and concerns. Timely responses to client service requests are crucial to mitigate potential errors and omissions.
- Providing support to Client Advisors on existing accounts and aiding them in fulfilling their commitments to clients.
- Initiating renewal reviews and re-marketing as necessary to ensure clients receive optimal coverage solutions and maintain client retention. Preparing insurance summaries and recommending coverages to avoid potential errors and omissions.
- Maintaining client accounts within the agency's automation system, documenting communications, properly attaching documents, and adhering to established automation procedures. This includes following up on outstanding orders and correspondence and responding to carrier requests for additional information promptly.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participating in seminars and training sessions for professional development.
- Providing training to other employees as needed.
- Offering backup support in various areas as assigned.
- Engaging in special projects as requested by management.
- Contributing to the development of efficiencies in automation and workflow.
- Keeping Client Advisors informed of significant activities on all accounts and updating them on the status of key accounts.
Staying informed about industry trends, products, pricing, and competitive markets is essential, along with maintaining a comprehensive understanding of agency and company procedural changes.
