Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in our Agency Management System.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, insurance companies, and agency personnel.
  • Compose professional business correspondence, including letters, emails, and other documents.
  • Perform accounting and math-related functions, including invoicing, premium allocation, and claims monitoring.
  • Communicate claims information to others in the agency and maintain up-to-date claims information in the system.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to clients in coordination with claims.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed.
  • Attend client meetings with Advisors or Directors of Risk Management, as requested.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of client accounts, including policy review, changes, and updates, contract review for certificates processing, and preparing renewal documents.
  • Assist coworkers in responding to client inquiries or processing work, as needed.
  • Counsel and advise clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and placing additional coverage as needed.
  • Actively seek out referrals from the current client base to solicit new business prospects and follow up to generate new business using our prospect database and automation system.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with insurance company partners and be responsible for knowing carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, and bring issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
  • Have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and be able to learn any other appropriate insurance company and firm software programs.
  • Demonstrate the firm's core values and exude behavior that is aligned with the corporate culture.
  • Obtain and maintain a state insurance license(s), as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions.
  • Have 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager role.
