Overview: As an HR Specialist, you will immerse yourself in the comprehensive range of Human Resources functions at American Fence & Supply Co. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates for various positions.
  • Establish a robust pipeline of talent.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to gain insights into the specific needs of each role.
  • Create and update job descriptions that are detailed, appealing, and compliant with legal standards.
  • Identify optimal recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Utilize diverse advertising methods for job postings, including online platforms, networking, and career fairs.
  • Maintain professional communication with candidates, providing updates throughout the selection process.
  • Conduct background checks and verify candidate references.
  • Manage the selection process and extend job offers upon management approval.
  • Ensure personnel files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Administer payroll functions.
  • Maintain open communication channels with all staff members.
  • Act as a primary resource for employees and management on various HR issues.
  • Address employee relations concerns effectively.
  • Monitor and investigate HR-related issues, including compliance with labor laws.
  • Communicate HR initiatives and updates to employees.
  • Design and implement Performance Improvement Plans as necessary.
  • Manage employee benefits programs.
  • Assess compensation structures and provide recommendations to ensure competitiveness.
  • Support training and development efforts.
  • Participate in career fairs and industry networking events.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor regulations.
  • Handle additional HR-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification(s) are advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in HR generalist roles and full-cycle recruitment.
  • Experience in payroll administration is required.
  • Background in recruiting for construction or skilled trades is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various recruitment methods and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Google G Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Reliable and dependable, with the ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in business matters.
