Job Summary

We are seeking a Life Skills Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities in developing and enhancing life skills, providing support in community integration and participation, and implementing individualized plans to achieve personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in developing and enhancing life skills such as daily living tasks, personal care, and communication
  • Provide support in community integration and participation by accompanying individuals on outings, appointments, and activities
  • Implement individualized plans to achieve personal goals through goal setting, progress tracking, and adaptations
  • Foster independence and inclusion within the community by promoting self-advocacy and self-direction
  • Offer short-term relief to caregivers of individuals with disabilities through respite services
  • Follow care plans and ensure the well-being of individuals in the absence of their primary caregivers
  • Engage in activities that promote socialization and recreation, including hobbies, sports, and creative pursuits

Requirements:

  • Caring and responsible attitude towards individuals with disabilities
  • Background in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential or day program setting
