Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Power Converter/Analog Design Engineer to be part of our dynamic team.

In this role, you will have the chance to design, develop, and evaluate analog and DC/DC power converter circuits for electronic devices utilized in commercial, military, and aerospace applications.

Your work will involve designing for the demanding conditions associated with military and space environments.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of electrical, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and testing engineers to ensure effective product development and transition to production.

Qualifications

- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analog and power converter design (both switching and linear), along with analysis and testing experience.
- Proficiency in using SPICE-based tools or other circuit analysis software (such as PSPICE, LTSPICE, HSPICE, SIMPLIS), schematic capture (Mentor Graphics Expedition, ORCAD Capture), and board layout (Mentor Graphics Expedition, Zuken).
- Familiarity with test instruments like oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, frequency response analyzers, and multimeters.
- Experience in preparing and presenting engineering design concepts and data for peer and internal/external design reviews.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications

- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics.
- Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
- Experience with military applications across land, sea, air, and space, as well as familiarity with military standards.
- Knowledge of AC to DC power conversion, including power factor and multi-phase power systems.
- Experience in power system architecture, specifications, and trade studies on multi-kilowatt power systems.
- Background in collaborating with systems, digital, and RF/Microwave design engineering teams.
- Experience in supporting peer design reviews, conducting design verification testing of engineering units, and overseeing designs through production.
- Experience working with subcontractors.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $132,000 and $230,000 annually.

At Viasat, we consider various factors when determining compensation, including the scope of the role and your individual background and experience.

Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be included as part of the compensation package, along with a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position.
