Position Overview:

As an Automation and Controls Technician, you will lead the charge in developing and executing automation initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement automation solutions to enhance manufacturing productivity and safety.
  • Program and configure automated systems, focusing on PLCs and VFDs.
  • Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of automated systems to reduce downtime and maintain continuous operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with the Focus Improvement team to enhance processes and boost productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on capital projects to elevate automation capabilities and meet strategic goals.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the HazMat team.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an associate degree or higher in automation technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of specialized training courses in Rockwell Automation products.
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PanelView, FactoryTalk View, and RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000.
  • Proficiency in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
  • Experience using GE Proficy iFix for HMI/SCADA application development and maintenance.
